I am a foodie that is true. However Caribbean cuisine will always stay close to my heart. When I found out about the NYC Caribbean Food Festival, I knew I had to be there. Met familiar faces and new ones too. Place was insanely crowded.
It's getting cold out and experiencing the hot flavors of the islands in every corner of the room was fantastic and truly warmed everyone. The music, the crowd and the food was just awesome.
I enjoyed my plate from Kombit Bar & Restaurant. They specialize in Haitian dining.
Then I came across this awesome new company: Kreyòl Kwizin. They sell Organic jars of Pikliz pronounced peek-leez. Every Haitian household has this in their home. It's Cabbage, carrots, chiles and other vegetables that are soaked in vinegar to make a relish. Perfect side dish for any Haitian dish.
