It's been raining a lot lately here in New Jersey. It's been very cold too. Almost feels like winter. But we all know it's April and showers are expected.
On rainy days, I usually do not work too hard in the fashion category just because it's not a really attractive time to rock out some good looks. I generally throw on some jeans, a pair of rain boots and I'm in and out the door. This time, I decided why not!? I thought to myself why let the weather define my wardrobe look for the day when I am all about fashion!
I got rid of my plain black boots and picked up a pretty, stylish and comfy floral pair by Kamik at my local DSW shoe warehouse store. I love the black stripe pattern ground with the flowers over it. Felt stylish, trendy and "springy"....wait....is that a word? Well you get my point!
I put together a somewhat preppy look with my hair pulled back, a pair of tights and denim skirt. My black trench coat kept me warm over a layered ensemble including a red sweater over a blue button down shirt.
My umbrella complemented the stripe pattern that's on the boots. No, I did not do that on purpose! I just love stripes in general. I just think that it's a classic basic pattern and anything will go with it. Don't you agree?
April showers will bring us May flowers. Join me in styling these damp, cold, long rainy days! Sorry, does not sound too attractive I know but Spring is almost here guys!!!! Hang in there.
